Symphony Orchestra

The
Shenandoah Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, which performs a diverse
range of symphonic repertoire, is dedicated to providing students
with opportunities to stimulate professional and artistic growth.
Orchestra programs include both standard and contemporary symphonic
literature.
The
ensemble typically performs six times each year, including a full
opera production and a program featuring winners of the student
soloist competition.
Significant
performing venues have included St. Matthews Cathedral and The John
F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC.
In the fall of 2000, the Shenandoah Conservatory Symphony Orchestra
was selected as the only collegiate orchestra to perform at the
Virginia Music Educators Association Conference in Hot Springs,
Virginia.
The
Symphony Orchestra is open to all music and non-music majors by
audition.
