Doctor of Education: Organizational Leadership
Individual Focus

Objective
Provides learners with insight on the application of organizational and leadership theory to organizations of public trust, broaden learners’ perspectives, and leading to a more comprehensive approach to ethical leadership and mission-driven organizations. This option in the degree will include standards for meeting Commonwealth of Virginia state licensure requirements in the area of Superintendent of Schools

Admissions Requirements for Organizational Leadership: Individual Focus
Master’s degree with minimum 3.5 GPA
Interview with the program director
Writing sample, which demonstrates scholarly writing ability (may be met through a directed writing exercise)
  • Three or more letters of recommendation:
    two from someone able to address the candidate’s academic abilities
  • at least one from a professional who knows the candidate’s ability in the chosen concentration
