Visit the GI Bill Website (or see below) for up-to-date information regarding Veteran’s Benefits.
All students wishing to enroll at Shenandoah University with VA Benefits must enroll for the benefits online. Once you have applied it may take up to 12 weeks to receive a response from the VA.
Once the Department of Veteran Affairs has processed the application, the student will receive a Certificate of Eligibility (CoE). A copy of this certificate should be submitted to the Registrar’s Office. This certificate includes the chapter for which the student is eligible, the student’s file number, and the date benefits expire. The Registrar’s Office will need this certificate in order to certify the student online.
Once you have been granted VA benefits the only thing you will need to do to continue your benefits at Shenandoah University is remain a full time student. Enrollment certifications will be automatically updated 30 days prior to the start of a new semester.
Ch 33, Yellow Ribbon
Yellow Ribbon is granted to undergraduate Ch 33 students with 100% eligibility. Shenandoah University accepts 50 yellow ribbon students per semester. Eligibility for entitlement to receive Yellow Ribbon aid for this 50 student limit is based on a first to register basis. Those who have applied for the program and meet eligibility guidelines but have not registered for classes will not be guaranteed a slot into the program. Individuals must register for classes to receive yellow ribbon benefits.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact the Registrar’s Office at 540-665-5585.
