Advanced Professional Certificate in TESOL

The Advanced Professional Certificate in TESOL is a minimal credential for teaching English to speakers of other languages worldwide. This 18-credit program can be applied directly to the master of science in education (TESOL) degree.

Students enroll in the advanced professional certificate seeking the following opportunities:

  • Interest in adding on to the content of the professional certificate TESOL
  • Desire to obtain a full complement of knowledge about the TESOL field before entering a graduate degree program (master's or doctoral level)
  • Plans to travel to a foreign country and teach English in an entry-level position

Transfer of Credits for TESOL Certificate Progams

Transfer credit will be granted on the basis of review by the TESOL program.  Up to three credits may be transferred into TESOL certificate programs when earned at an accredited institution and when the credits fulfill required courses.
