Sunday, March 2nd from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm

Polar Plunge for Kids at Risk (originally scheduled on Feb. 16) is at 1:30 p.m. at the Shenandoah University River Campus at Cool Spring. Enjoy an exhilarating dip in the Shenandoah River while helping a worthwhile cause. This event is sponsored by the Horseshoe Curve Benevolent Association, and money raised will help send local at-risk children to the High Five Sports Camp this summer. The individual who raises the most money earns the Polar Bear Trophy. Plungers must sign up via Cool Spring Site Manager Linden “Gene” Lewis at 540/535-5831 or llewis09@su.edu. Then, begin gathering your sponsors. On the day of the event, park in the lots near the main Cool Spring building. The group will walk down to the river together, and take the plunge. (Following the plunge, hot food and drinks will be served at Blue Ridge Fire Hall just up the hill from Cool Spring. Dry Mill Road, a very talented bluegrass band will perform.)
