Spring Clean Up Day

Spring Clean Up Day, an initiative of the University Staff Council to help beautify the campus before Commencement, will be done in two shifts: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and noon to 2 p.m. (Employees may volunteer with supervisor approval. Time taken by an employee will not count against time accrued for vacation or personal days.) Don’t forget your gardening/work gloves. Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival Concert Band Competition

Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival BB&T Concert Band Competition is from 8 a.m. to noon at Shenandoah University. Schools are divided into classifications according to the grade level and difficulty of the music performed. Each band is required to perform three selections within a 30-minute period, and two of those selections must be chosen from the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors’ graded music list. Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival Jazz Ensemble Competition

Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival Commonwealth Assisted Living Jazz Ensemble Competition is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Shenandoah University. Bands compete in three classifications, which are determined by student enrollment in Grades 7 through 12. Bands perform 20 minutes of music of their own selection. Green Move Out, a Shenandoah Salvage Co. initiative, asks students to donate gently used, unwanted items rather than throwing out things that are still useable. Collection bins will be located throughout residence halls for students’ convenience. A collection bin will be in the Brandt Student Center, too, for students, faculty and staff who live off campus. Trash and items that are damaged beyond repair or excessively dirty should be thrown away rather than placed in the bins. Contact student Karly…
