Breast Cancer Survivor Dinner Ticket Sale

Breast Cancer Survivor Dinner Ticket Sale is between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. (various times) near Health Professions Building, Room 109. Kappa Epsilon Pharmaceutical Fraternity hosts its 12th Annual Breast Cancer Survivor Dinner at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, in the Brandt Student Center, Ferrari Room. The evening includes a guest speaker, professionally catered dinner, silent auctions, raffles and door prizes. Tickets in advance are $15 for students and $20 for adults. Breast cancer survivors are admitted free. After Oct. 3, tickets are $20 for students and $30 for adults. Contact student Michelle Nugent at mnugent13@su.edu.

Rape Aggression Defense Class

Rape Aggression Defense Class is from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Aikens Athletic Center conference room. This free class is held on four Wednesday nights: Oct. 1, 8, 15 and 22. R.A.D. classes are open to all Shenandoah women – students, faculty and staff – and are taught by certified R.A.D. instructors Adam Smith and Kelcey Webster, who are both Department of Public Safety officers. Women who took the RAD class in 2013-14 are welcome to take the class again for review or to attend the last session of each class, which is simulation. Simulation involves students using the techniques they’ve learned in class to fight off an aggressor in simulated real-life scenarios. Class size is limited.
