Founded at Shenandoah University in 1991,
the Blue Ridge Institute for Environmental Studies (BRIES)
supports environmental research, teacher education,
and community outreach projects.

BRIES is housed in Shenandoah's Environmental Studies Program and
offered in conjunction with the University's Biology Program and Education Program.
