National SMART Grants are potentially available to Pell-eligible students who are U.S. citizens and enrolled in a college major such as science, mathematics, technology, engineering, and certain foreign languages. At Shenandoah University, the current qualifying majors for 2008-2009 are biology, chemistry, and mathematics. These grants are available to eligible students for their third and fourth academic years of college. The amount of the SMART Grant is $4,000 for each year.
