Sampling of Comments from Student Participants - June 2006
As for the government portion of the Student Citizenship Program, I learned a great deal. It also made me more aware how easy and important it is to become involved. The program helped me become a stronger leader and effective communicator. It improved my social skills and helped be understand the importance of being a “team player.” In addition the Citizenship Program enabled me to make new friends. I cannot thank the INSTITUTE for GOVERNMENT & PUBLIC SERVICE enough for providing me the opportunity to participate in the Student Citizenship Program.

I’ve been to many overnight summer camps and this, by far, was the best. It was a perfect blend of structured activity and free time. I learned a lot about government and politics. The teachers and speakers were all very inspirational and informative. The activities were the best. I would highly recommend the program.
