Graduate Certificate Program

 

 

The institute is accepting applications of students to enroll in its Public Administration Certificate Program (PMCP). The PMCP is designed to provide professional credentialing and to help health-care,non-profit and public sector managers “jump start” a program of work leading to a master’s of public administration (MPA).

Highlights of the program include:
  • Program consists of four graduate-level courses to be offered over a period of one year. Each course is 12 weeks in duration.
  • Classes meet one evening a week, generally on Monday, from 6 to 9 p.m. The next opportunity to enroll is with the class scheduled to begin on Monday, January 14, 2008 – PUAD 501: Public Administration and Management.
  • The four graduate-level classes in the program are:
    • PUAD 501: Public Administration and Management
    • PUAD 502: Organizational Theory
    • PUAD 503: Public Personnel Administration
    • PUAD 504: Public Administration Ethics
  • Students who successfully complete the four-course program earn 12 credits towards a MPA degree. Graduates of the Public Management Certificate Program are currently finishing work towards an MPA degree at Virginia Tech, George Washington and George Mason University.
  • Enrollees must have the minimum of an accredited baccalaureate degree.
  • All enrollees who make up the program’s cohort group receive a tuition rate of $800 for each of the threecredit hour courses in the program.
  • Core instruction is provided by Dr. Bill Shendow, Dr. Travis Sample, Dr. Clyde Croswell, Tom Malcolm and such other eminently qualified instructors as may be required.
