Shenandoah University is seeking an Admissions Counselor to provide a high quality of service to prospective students and families throughout the recruitment and enrollment process. The Admission Counselor directly contributes to the success of meeting enrollment goals.
The Admissions Counselor is often the prospective student’s first contact with the university and must recognize the importance of building a relationship based on the professional, correct and timely exchange of information. The Admissions Counselor is also the liaison between the prospective families and the faculty and staff of other university departments.
The primary responsibilities of this position are to enthusiastically represent Shenandoah University, serve as a contact person for prospective students, manage the application process, and serve as a liaison between the Office of Admissions and various departments throughout the university. The ability and willingness to work until the task is completed successfully is essential.
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Attention to details, ability to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Outstanding interpersonal skills essential
- Excellent communications skills; both written and oral
- Ability to utilize numerous technology applications, Datatel, Word, Excel, as well as admissions technology in recruitment
- Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and overnight travel
