The Marketing and Communications staff supports the crisis and safety objectives of the institution, serving as the communications team for the university’s Emergency Response Team.
The staff is responsible for maintaining and executing the crisis communications portion of the Emergency Preparedness Plan. Responsibilities include primary communications with the news media and all internal and external stakeholders as well as managing the Emergency Communications Center.
The staff is responsible for preparing communications solutions and acting as spokespersons during emergency situations utilizing various media channels – both internal and external – to communicate important details to all stakeholder groups in a clear, concise, and consistent manner. Of primary importance is the safety and well being of our campus community and the institution’s cooperation with emergency responders throughout the region.
After an emergency situation has passed, the marketing and communications staff will participate in restoration, evaluation and case reporting of various incidents.
