Anthony
A. Miller, M.Ed., PA-C serves as the Director of the Division
of Physician Assistant Studies. Mr. Miller is a physician assistant
with 22 years experience in PA education. He has served in leadership
positions in state and national physician assistant professional
associations including a term as President for the Association of
Physician Assistant Programs (APAP). Recently he chaired a national
task force on the end point degree issue for PA education. Mr. Millers
scholarship interests include faculty development, assessment of
educational outcomes and leadership development. Mr. Miller is a graduate
of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation/Cuyahoga Community College Physician
Assistant Program. He received his Bachelor of Science in Technical
Education from the University of Akron and Masters in Education
degree from Cleveland State University. He is completing his doctoral
studies in higher education through the University of Toledo.

James C. Laidlaw, M.D.
is the Medical Director for the Division of Physician Assistant
Studies. Dr. Laidlaw is board certified in internal medicine and a
Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He completed medical
school and his residency at the University of Michigan, his
internship at the Los Angeles County Hospital and his Fellowship in
cardiology at the University of Michigan. He serves on the board of
directors of the Winchester Medical Center and is President of the
board of the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, a regional history
museum complex in Winchester.

Rachel
A. Carlson, MSBS, PA-C serves as the Associate Director and Associate
Professor for the
Division of Physician Assistant Studies. Ms. Carlson is a
physician assistant who came to Shenandoah in 2002 from a family
practice office. She currently works per-diem as a PA at the
Urgent Care Center in Winchester. Her other interests include legal
aspects of health care and women's health. She is very active
in service activities for the PA profession, Shenandoah University
and the Winchester community. Ms. Carlson received her Master
of Science in Biomedical Sciences - Physician Assistant Studies
degree from the University of Toledo and her Bachelor of Science in
Environmental Resource Management degree from The Pennsylvania State
University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in higher
education leadership with a concentration in Health Care Education
through NOVA Southeastern University.

Raymond L. Eifel, M.S.,
PA-C has
served as a member of the faculty since July, 2002. Mr. Eifel was
trained as a surgical physician assistant and after completing a
one year internal medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation,
continued his employment at CCF in the Urological Institute. Mr.
Eifel’s teaching experience includes being an Instructor of Anatomy
and Physical Education at George Williams College and precepting PA students while at CCF. Mr. Eifel is currently pursuing
an Ed.D. through George Washington
University in Higher Education Administration with an interest in
curriculum development.

Brenda
L. Kaminski MPH, PA-C joined the faculty as Assistant Professor
for the Division of Physician Assistant Studies in May, 2005. In
2004, Ms. Kaminski completed a Master of Public Health (epidemiology
concentration) at The George Washington University School of Public
Health. While completing her MPH, she worked for an epidemiologist
at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. She worked on various
projects examining the association of pre-diagnostic serologic
biomarkers and the risk of developing multiple sclerosis, lymphoma
or mental illness in active-duty military populations. Ms.
Kaminski has fifteen years of clinical experience as a physician
assistant, primarily in a busy family practice in eastern North
Carolina. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison
Physician Assistant Program.

Dr. Jessica
Trompeter joined the Shenandoah faculty in 2007. She serves as
Assistant Professor for the Division of Physician Assistant Studies
and the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Dr. Trompeter completed
her Pharm. D. and M.B.A. at Shenandoah University in 2005. She has
completed a Pharmacy Practice residency at Valley Health
System/Shenandoah University and a Primary Care specialty residency
at Amherst Family Practice/ Shenandoah University. Her interests
include diabetes management, reimbursement for clinical pharmacist’s
services and medication therapy management services.
