Catalogue Description
Examines selected specimens of published research in TESOL to demonstrate the various forms and purposes of research in the field. Presents the major statistical concepts needed to understand TESOL research. Three credits.

About the Course

The purposes of this course are:
  • to help you become familiar with the types of research that are done in TESOL
  • to help you develop an appreciation of the relationships between TESOL practice and research
  • to help you understand the statistical terms and concepts used in TESOL research
  • to give you some experience with statistical tools
  • to prepare you to design and conduct your own research projects
