
Brenda
Murphy
Brenda received
her PhD in related performing arts from New York University's
Graduate School of Education, and later added the MSEd-TESOL
from Shenandoah University. She taught English in Japan
for 16 years and has spent six months on sabbatical
in Italy. Brenda's interests are varied: she has created
ESL materials for music students, critiqued grammar
textbooks, and has recently begun a serious study of
issues concerning TESOL distance education. In addition
to her current professional activities, Brenda is an
instructor in the traditional Japanese art of Chado (the
"way of tea").
Brenda joined the Shenandoah University faculty in 1996.
