Graduation

Students who are in a specific program will receive the appropriate degree or certificate after completing the required courses and submitting an application to graduate. Students may graduate in December, May, or August each year.

If a student has completed the requirements for a program, but has not been admitted to that specific program, official documents cannot be awarded. However, at the student's request, the TESOL Chair will provide a letter confirming that the student has in fact completed the academic requirements for the program. For example, a student in the MSEd-TESOL program may request such a letter after completing the requirements for the Professional Certificate in TESOL, which are part of the MSEd-TESOL program.

Since we consider on-site and distance education to be of equal value, the degrees, certificates, and letters do not mention the mode of delivery. The same is true of grade reports, transcripts, and any other similar documents.

For information on graduation, please e-mail Valerie Taylor in the Registrar's Office or consult the graduation Web site.
