Programs
The Professional Certificate in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of
Other Languages) provides an entry-level credential for persons who
want academic training in the essential elements of the TESOL
profession. The three courses in this nine-credit program provide an
overview of the field, a basic grasp of English linguistics and a
survey of important language teaching methods. All of the courses in
the Professional Certificate program can be applied toward the
requirements for the Advanced Professional Certificate in TESOL, the
Add-on Endorsement in ESL, and the Master of Science in Education
(TESOL Concentration). (This is NOT a licensure program. This program
is NOT for those seeking the Add-on Endorsement in ESL; see the Add-on Endorsement
