Transfer Credit

Applicants for the Master of Science in Education (TESOL Concentration) may receive transfer credit for up to nine credit hours of coursework taken at other institutions. Students admitted to certificate programs are not eligible for transfer credit. Applications for transfer and admittance are handled by the Admissions Office.

In order to be eligible for transfer, the following conditions must be met:
  • The credits must be at the graduate level.
  • The credits must be granted by an accredited institution.
  • The courses for which the credits were earned must be substantially similar in content and requirements to corresponding courses in our MSEd-TESOL program.
  • Course grades must be no lower than B-.
  • In most cases, the credits must have been earned no more than 10 years before applying to our program.
Transfer credits earned before being admitted to the MSEd-TESOL program count toward degree requirements, but the grades are not included in the student's Grade Point Average (GPA). In the case of transfer credits earned after admission to the program, the grades are included in the GPA.
