Tuition
Shenandoah
University is a private institution and
does not receive direct support from the
state. Therefore, tuition fees are
the same for all students whether in-state,
out-of-state or non-US. In addition,
students at Shenandoah University who are
enrolled in distance programs (such as the
TESOL program), qualify for financial aid
under the same terms of agreement as on-site
students.
Students
are responsible for their tuition fees.
However, the Financial Aid office does provide
loans and other support for some students
who are eligible for financial aid.
Out of pocket fees for TESOL graduate students
at Shenandoah University are competitive
with those of other TESOL programs in the
United States.
Eligibility
for Financial Aid – Some Information:

To qualify for financial aid
at Shenandoah University, TESOL students
must first be enrolled in a program of
Study;
-
Upon admission, students interested
in obtaining financial aid support from
Shenandoah University must register for
classes;
-
After registering for classes, students
can apply for financial aid under the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
program with the Shenandoah University Financial
Aid Office
www.fafsa.ed.gov.; and
-
Loans are available for students
enrolled in a minimum of 4.5 graduate credit
hours of study.
IMPORTANT: Financial aid at Shenandoah
University is determined on the basis of
the number of credit hours in which students
enroll. No student enrolled in fewer
than 4.5 graduate credit hours of study
will be granted financial support at Shenandoah
University.
Fees (effective, Fall 2008-Fall 2009):
Tuition fees for TESOL students are $670
per credit hour.
All qualified TESOL students receive a $320
per credit hour fellowship.
Therefore, the total cost per credit hour
for students receiving financial aid
will be $350 per credit hour.
At this time, there is a $70 per credit
hour distance fee that applies to the use
of required DVDs, used in several courses.
Those courses are EGL 501, TSL 501, TSL
522 and TSL 541. For more information

The
Office of Financial Aid asks that graduate
students contact them at 540-665-4538 following
academic advising with your TESOL advisor.
Please provide the Financial Aid Officer
