Shenandoah University TESOL
Who We Are

Shenandoah University was founded in 1875. Located in Winchester, Virginia (about 75 miles from Washington, DC), it is a private university with about 3,000 students in over 80 programs in 6 schools.

Shenandoah is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools -- the same regional accrediting body that accredits large, well-known universities such as the University of Virginia, Duke University, etc. Credits, certificates, and degrees awarded by Shenandoah University are recognized and accepted everywhere.

The TESOL program at Shenandoah has been in operation since 1995. It has granted over 100 master's degrees and a number of certificates, and currently enrolls around 150 students, both degree-seeking and special students. A great majority of our students take most or all of their courses by distance. The TESOL program is part of Graduate Education, housed in the College of Arts and Sciences.
