MISSION STATEMENT:

The Shenandoah University Library is committed to providing the resources and services that implement, support and enrich the educational and artistic programs of the University. The Library's resources are vital to the mission of the University, to the continued excellence of the academic programs, and to the University's ability to attract and retain quality students and faculty. The Library's primary constituency is the faculty, staff and students of the University. Secondarily, the Library serves as a resource to the residents of the surrounding area. Specifically, the purpose of the Library is:

To provide expert formal and informal instruction, consultation and assistance to library users in locating information and materials in planning research strategy.
To guide students in developing the skills for critical thinking, advanced study and lifelong learning.
To achieve a high level of patron satisfaction with library collections, services and staff.
