Welcome to the Residence
Life at SU!
Welcome to Shenandoah
University as a member of our residential community. The mission
of Residence Life is to provide the most exciting, efficient,
educational, student-centered residential experience that we can
provide.
We offer residential
living communities to enhance the intellectual climate and
provide nurturing and inclusive environments that facilitate
engaged student learning and citizenry.
Aside from the obvious
advantage of access and convenience, living on campus is a great
way to meet people and make life-long friends that transforms
your out of classroom time into a much richer and
deeper experience! Residential living provides greater
opportunities to interact with professors outside of the
classroom, be actively involved in clubs and organizations,
attend performances by our conservatory students and support our
Hornets at athletic competitions. Studies also show that
students who live on campus for their first two years of their
undergraduate education have a higher graduation rate!
This is why we require all students to live on campus their
freshman and sophomore years; all housing contracts are binding
for a full academic year.
We invite you to become engaged in our campus community and
remember that at Shenandoah University, “You Can!” We are
excited in having you live in our community and enrich it with
your intellect, leadership, civility, dedication and
perseverance.
