Don Appiarius
Director of Residence Life
Don is the director of Residence Life as well as the advisor for the Student Government Association. He is from Long Island, New York. His interests outside of work include music, traveling, cooking, tennis and scuba diving. Don has much experience in conflict resolution which helps in his overseeing of resident assistants and their interacting with residents. This also helps when there are major issues involved with SGA. He likes being a part of Shenandoah University and Student Affairs because it is a small, personable yet comprehensive and complex institution. It is diverse and wonderfully unique. You get to wear many hats and the work is always challenging and rewarding-you get to work with colleagues who really care about students-and you get to help people in a very direct and meaningful way. Don has also advised SGA at four other institutions and was a former SGA president himself. He totally respects and really values the work that the Student Government Association does.
