Lauren Pappas, a third-year Dance major and Mass Communications minor, currently serves as the Student Government Association's Vice President. A native of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Lauren decided to attend Shenandoah University in order to pursue Dance within a Conservatory setting. Previously holding the position of Senator of the Conservatory, Lauren has been involved with the SGA since her freshman year at Shenandoah. In fact, Lauren became interested in Student Government during her high school career, as she was nominated Student Council Treasurer at Bishop McCort High School.
Aside from the Student Government, Lauren is an active member of Sigma Delta National Dance Fraternity. Furthermore, Lauren is a certified Pilates instructor through both Shenandoah University and the Pilates Method Alliance (a national foundation). In 2007, she also had the opportunity to travel to Panama and Argentina through SU's Global Citizenship Project and Study Abroad programs. Lauren hopes to continue her international traveling through future study abroad programs offered by the university.
Lauren's other interests and activities include: Meeting new people, spending time with friends and family, working out at the gym, cooking, reading, knitting, and (perhaps most importantly) enjoying Starbucks coffee with friends. J
