2011-2012 COMMENCEMENT GUIDE

The Shenandoah University Commencement Guide (pdf) will be posted by early February 2012.

The Commencement Guide contains every detail regarding graduation. Please read carefully.

 

CEREMONY RAIN PLAN INFORMATION:  The rain date for the ceremony will be Sunday, May 13, 2012 at 10 a.m. PLEASE NOTE:  The ceremony will ONLY be moved in the event of SEVERE weather (lightening, severe storms, etc.). 

 

 IMPORTANT GRADUATION NOTIFICATIONS

Graduates will be notified regarding important graduation information via the following sources: the SUN-E, The 'Doah, SU email, SU Web site, the "Academic Affairs for Students" organization in Blakboard, and the graduation mailing sent from the Office of Academic Affairs to the address supplied by the student on their graduation application.

Please continue to check the Web site, Blackboard, and your student email for important updates.

GRADUATION MAILING INFORMATION:   Graduates should be on the look out for information and mailings about commencement and Grad Finale in early March 2011.  The mailing will be sent to the address that is supplied by the graduate on the graduation application application and will be mailed the week following the March 1 graduation application deadline.  

 

COMMENCEMENT PROGRAM INFORMATION

The names of all graduates will be automatically included in the May 20121 Commencement Program.

PLEASE NOTE:  As the final list of names for the Commencement Program are compiled and released to the printer within days of the deadline, exceptions cannot be made. If you apply to graduate anytime after the application deadline, your name may not appear in the printed program due to the printer’s deadlines.

Any student wishing to have his/her name EXCLUDED from appearing in the printed Commencement Program must contact the Office of the University Registrar prior to the graduation application deadline of March 1, 2011.

PHOTOGRAPHER INFORMATION
  • A photographer from GradImages™ will be at your ceremony to take a candid photograph of you at your special moment of recognition. 
  • You will receive a free passport-sized digital proof of this photo on an order card within 3-5 days following the ceremony. 
  • After the ceremony you may order online at http://www.gradimages.com/ or call 800-261-2576.
  • Since photographs will be available, family members and guests are encouraged to remain in their seats, relax and enjoy the ceremony.
  • PRIOR TO THE CEREMONY: To pre-register your permanent email address, please visit http://www.gradimages.com/ and click on "Pre-Event Registration". Registering your graduate with GradImages provides them with the information they need to deliver your graduation proofs to you in a timely manner. Giving them an accurate mailing address and email address will allow them to get your proofs to you on the first try. You may also provide them with email addresses of up to six friends and family members to allow them to celebrate in the accomplishment.
