SU Media Services supports audio-visual technology by helping students, faculty, and staff select, obtain, and use the appropriate audio-visual equipment and services for their academic needs. Our department also installs, administers, and supports audio-visual technologies in classrooms, lecture halls, and auditoriums throughout the university. These technologies include SMART Board interactive white boards, projectors and high-definition displays, sound systems, video teleconferencing systems, and much more. Media Services also offers individual and group training, and help to ensure that our students, faculty, and staff enjoy the most successful user experience possible.

Media Services is a unit of the Shenandoah University Libraries. Though our work extends to every SU campus location, our home base is the Media Center, which is on the third floor of the Alson H. Smith, Jr. Library on SU’s main campus in Winchester, VA. In the Media Center, SU students, faculty, and staff can access the library’s extensive collection of audio and video recordings. Patrons may also use the Media Center’s study areas and two listening/viewing rooms. In addition, the Media Center provides two Archive Access workstations where patrons may watch and listen to a growing archive of events, primarily Shenandoah Conservatory performances. Media Services encourages patrons to take advantage of and learn about current audio-visual technology by borrowing from our collection of portable video cameras, audio recorders, and much more.
