The
January 2008 issue of the Byrd Business Review introduced you to Halpin-Harrison
Hall, the new learning environment of the Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School
of Business, through pictures. This issue will continue that introduction.
It is our desire that this new structure will transform the face of
business education at Shenandoah University by changing the climate
of teaching, scholarship and service. As guests tour this new facility
they realize Halpin-Harrison Hall communicates quality to the corporate
world as well as to prospective students and parents. Talk with current
students and faculty and you will come away with their sense of pride
in their new academic home. The sign one sees on the first level of
the building, which reads Halpin-Harrison Hall: Inspiring Excellence,
is a challenge to all of us who function in the new environment. We
want to be the very best that we can be, and we want to equip our graduates
to become the future leaders of tomorrow regardless of their geographic
location in the world. Many of you have already taken a tour, but if
you have not, we hope you will come by and enjoy what a group of loyal
financial supporters sought as their vision for this new structure several
years ago. What a vision and what a building!
