My favorite spots around SU: There are some wonderful grassy areas in the quad shaded by beautiful tall trees where benches and Adirondack chairs are found. There you can enjoy a nice quiet moment in nature and take a break from the busyness of the world for a moment. I also love visiting the Downtown Walking Mall. There are so many shops, restaurants, and things to see.
What makes SU special to me: SU is not only a university, but a community. You can tell that everyone from the professors to the staff are fully invested in the students and in creating a sense of welcoming, encouragement, and belonging to all on the SU campus.
My advice: Figure out what is important to you in looking for a school and make a list. Is it that the school has great social activities, is it the size of the classrooms, is it the type of classes that are offered in your major? Use that checklist when researching schools, but also look at how the school makes you feel. Visit the school and experience the campus environment. Choosing a school is not just about checking off a list. In the end, you have trust your gut and go with the place where you can see yourself studying and living for the next 4 years.
