What makes SU special to you: I chose to come to SU for the people. As soon as I set foot on campus and met with the faculty and staff, I felt as if I was home and everybody here was family. Everyone is so kind and welcoming, and genuinely interested in one another. You can’t help but fall in love with the campus and the community in an instant!
What makes SU unique?: I love SU because we are so strong in so many different areas—No one thing dominates the SU landscape. We have a world-renowned Conservatory, we are dedicated to academics, we have a lot of resources for athletics with great staff and facilities across our 22 teams on campus, and we are able to offer all of our students a variety of programs outside of the classroom with recreation, student activities and spiritual life. Everything that SU offers assures that we look out for the best interests of all of our students, and not just cater to any one segment of our community.
My advice: Look at a few different types of schools and to visit the campuses you are interested in attending. University websites do a great job of laying out what a school has to offer, but nothing beats the actual experience of being on the campus and taking in the sights and sounds for yourself. A certain type of school may seem like a perfect fit for you on paper, and visiting campus may entirely change your opinion. I suggest checking out campuses that are small, medium, and large and in urban and rural settings to see what is the best fit.
