Senior First-Year Admissions Counselor
Born in sunny California – I traded in my beachy SoCal ways for the mountains when my family moved to Colorado. To this day, I carry with me a love for the outdoors – one of the reasons I chose to attend college in the Shenandoah Valley, earning my BFA in Musical Theatre from the Shenandoah Conservatory in 2014.
After graduation, I began my foray into the entertainment industry, but found myself increasingly drawn to education. I worked as a substitute teacher in West Virginia and quickly became involved with several high school theatrical productions. I also taught acting and musical theatre for various camps and the Shenandoah Conservatory Arts Academy.
After attending the Contemporary Commercial Music Vocal Pedagogy Institute at Shenandoah University in 2018, I opened my own private voice studio. I found my passion in helping students be the best that they can be, specifically as students prepare for college applications and auditions.
When not teaching or acting, I can be found hiking, visiting the many National Parks and historical sites throughout the area, attending one of the numerous performance opportunities on campus and in Washington DC, or spending time with my wife and two dogs!
My advice for prospective students is to ask questions, be your honest self, and make sure you visit campus! Find an atmosphere in which you will thrive – with faculty, staff, services, and students who will support you. You will know when you find the place that is right for you.
