Applied Cybersecurity Application Information

Join Shenandoah’s online MS in Applied Cybersecurity

The Master of Science in Applied Cybersecurity will prepare students to work in cybersecurity or information technology administration positions, leading teams of cybersecurity specialists, positions implementing enterprise cybersecurity policy, and positions conducting incident investigations. The curriculum is designed to help prepare students to take the CISSP certification exam.

  • Graduate Application for Admission and $30 Application Fee
  • Unofficial or official transcripts
    • Applicants can choose to submit unofficial transcripts for initial review. If admitted, the applicant must submit an official transcript for each unofficial transcript upload. See our full policy for more details.   
    • A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required
      • Preferred minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.25 or work experience that demonstrates the candidate is capable of graduate-level work
      • Undergraduate major should be in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, or information systems management OR applicants should have prior coursework in cybersecurity fundamentals, operating systems, networking, and programming.
    • All transcripts from non-U.S.-based institutions must be course-by-course evaluated by a NACES or AICE academic credential evaluation company to obtain equivalency information on courses, grades, and degrees earned. Upload a copy of this course-by-course evaluation to serve as your unofficial transcript from that institution. Please note: If choosing to upload an unofficial evaluation, please contact the evaluating agency to ensure the same official version can be sent at a later date. Unofficial and official evaluations must be conducted by the same evaluation company to ensure consistency.

  • Language Proficiency Requirement must be met. Submission of TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, or Duolingo English Test (DET) may be required. See our policy for full details.

For international students who require an F-1, I-20 visa, due to its online format, F-1 visas are not issued for this program. 

Visit Options

The Office of Graduate Admissions offers campus visits, program-specific webinars and information sessions throughout the year. These events include time to speak with graduate admissions representatives and program faculty or deans.
