Shenandoah University Intensive English as a Second Language offers rigorous academic instruction in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and grammar-in-use to intermediate and advanced nonnative speakers of English.
Application Information
You must submit the online IESL application.
Admission to IESL is open to students with minimum scores of either:
- 45 on ToEFL iBtÂ
- 5.0 on IELTS
- 39 on PTE
- 75 on Duolingo English Test
Have official test scores sent directly to Shenandoah University. If electronic submission is not an option, paper copies can be sent to the address below:Â

To be eligible to receive a SEVIS I-20 form from Shenandoah, please send financial information and documentation explaining how you plan to cover your educational and living expenses while studying at Shenandoah. To document your financial resources, you may complete the Supplemental Application for International Students form and include support materials such as a signed affidavit of support and a copy of a recent bank statement.
