Dear Alumni, Faculty and Staff,
Happy New Year! I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season. A highlight for me was attending the concert, The Washington Chorus: A Candlelight Christmas, at the Kennedy Center on December 11 with fellow alumni, Bob ’69 and Jane Burwell ’69 Beery; Pam Bell ’71, ’83; Wilbur Dove ’59 and Jane Pittman ’89. The concert was wonderful and Carl Tanner ’85 performed a solo of O Holy Night. He received a standing ovation. When he was introduced, the conductor announced that he was a graduate of Shenandoah! After the concert, we had the pleasure of meeting with Carl for 20 – 30 minutes. He was very generous with his time and told us lots of stories about his life and career including that he is working with Michael Keaton on a movie of his life.
Now that we are into February, I am reminded that Shenandoah has lots of sweethearts. While I did not meet my sweetheart at SU, I know many of our alumni did. So if you met your sweetheart at SU, please share your story for Valentine’s Day. Just click here to see some of our sweethearts.
Spring will be here before we know it, so be sure to mark your calendars for the 2017 Conservatory and Dayton Alumni Reunions, March 30 – April 1.
