Dear Alumni and Friends,
Happy New Year to all. I hope you and your family had a beautiful holiday season filled with love, fun, and too much food! I also hope you are off to a very prosperous 2018.
In the upcoming months, there are so many very exciting events happening on and off campus that I hope you will be able to attend. First, just last week, the Shenandoah University women’s basketball team had their very first practice in the James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center! If you don’t already follow Shenandoah University on Instagram, be sure to add them using the handle shenandoahuniversity and check out those ladies in their new home. Later this month, the men’s and women’s basketball teams will host their first games in the Athletics & Events Center. Also, on Feb. 10, Shenandoah will hold a ribbon cutting for the building and dedicate the Dave & Kathy Dutton Court as well.
Be sure to mark your calendar for the Dayton Alumni Weekend, which will be held in conjunction with the Conservatory Alumni Reunion on April 12-15. So many exciting things are on tap for both reunions. Brochures for both events will be sent by the end of January, at which time online registration will launch as well.
Finally, I am thrilled Emily Burner ’16 has recently started in her new position as executive director of alumni affairs. As many of you know, she has been with the university for nine years. She brings with her vast experience and knowledge of the university. I hope you all join me in welcoming Emily in her new position and look forward to working with her in the upcoming years.
