The Shenandoah Dance Ensemble culminates its season with a performance of original works by faculty choreographers Lindsay Browning, Tiffanie Carson, Ting-Yu Chen and Daniel Padierna.
Pit Party, 8:00 p.m. ($5)
Location: Abrams Creek Amphitheatre
Join your fellow classmates and current students for music and S’mores around the fire. Make sure to bring your instruments because you will get the opportunity to jam once more at this former student hot spot once again.
Conservatory Tours with Jeff Marlatt, Ph.D., 10 a.m.
Location: Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre Lobby
Haven’t been on campus for awhile? Join our Conservatory Tours, which will be led by Senior Associate Dean, Associate Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs and Professor of Music Jeff Marlett, Ph.D., and see all the new and exciting things Shenandoah has to offer.
Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre and Friends Reunion, 4 p.m.
Location: Glaize Theatre Studio, inside Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre
Enjoy food and fellowship as conservatory alumni, students, faculty and staff celebrate the university’s Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre (SSMT) during this happy hour. This event is an opportunity to give back to SSMT, which has been a staple in the Shenandoah community for 39 years and counting.

Symphony Orchestra – Mahler 5, 7:30 p.m. (Alumni: $12; Adult: $14)
Location: Armstrong Concert Hall
Celebrate Mahler’s monumental and virtuosic Symphony No. 5 in C-sharp Minor. From the iconic trumpet solo in the “Funeral March” to the beloved Adegietto and more, Mahler’s exhilarating and breathtaking work is not to be missed in this series finale!
All proceeds for this performance support the Symphony Orchestra’s May 2023 tour of Argentina.
Conservatory Faculty Retirement Celebration, 10 a.m. ($10)
Location: Health & Life Sciences Building Rotunda
Join your fellow alumni as we celebrate recently retired conservatory faculty members. You will have the chance to reconnect with your favorite professors and wish them well in this next chapter of their lives. Light brunch will be provided.

Join our faculty for a pre-concert talk introducing Joanna MacGregor’s program featuring works by Ligeti, Liszt, Wagner and Schubert.
World of the Piano – Joanna MacGregor, 2:30 p.m. (Alumni: 24; Adult: $27)

Joanna MacGregor CBE is one of the world’s most innovative musicians, appearing as a concert pianist, curator and conductor. As a solo artist, MacGregor has performed in more than eighty countries and appeared with many eminent conductors and orchestras, including the London Symphony and Sydney Symphony orchestras; Chicago, Melbourne and Oslo Philharmonic orchestras; Berlin Symphony Orchestra and Salzburg Camerata. She has premiered many landmark compositions, ranging from Sir Harrison Birtwistle and Django Bates to John Adams and James MacMillan. She performs regularly at major venues throughout the world, including Wigmore Hall, Southbank Centre and Barbican Centre in London, Sydney Opera House, Leipzig Gewandhaus, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Mozarteum in Salzburg. As a recording artist, MacGregor is a veteran of over forty solo recordings, ranging from Bach and Scarlatti to jazz and John Cage.
