Sarah Hickie ‘09 graduated from the Harry F. Byrd Jr. School of Business at Shenandoah University. Hickie recognizes that many of her general education courses such as History, English, and Public Speaking were integral parts of her college education. In addition to a rigorous academic schedule, she served as President of the Student Investment Club and Co-Captain of the Women’s Track and Cross Country teams.
After earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Shenandoah, Hickie attended University of Virginia (UVA) School of Law in Charlottesville, Virginia. She realized right away that her business education at Shenandoah put her ahead of many of her peers in law school. She was familiar with concepts that many other students who had taken a different route to law school had never learned. She also felt comfortable and flourished in the small seminar courses offered at UVA Law. “The professors at SU played a large role in preparing me for my future and getting me into the law school of my choice. I still count a few of them as mentors and friends,” said Hickie.
Hickie currently works as an Associate at Abrams & Bayliss LLP, a corporate litigation firm in New Castle County, Delaware. She is still learning every day and finds it exciting to put to practice the skills she learned at Shenandoah University.
