The Loudoun County Teacher of the Year Award was created 16 years ago to recognize quality teachers in Loudoun County, Va. in specialized areas of study. A screening committee from Shenandoah University and Loudoun County Public Schools will select the winner based on commitment to students and teaching, subject knowledge, teaching philosophy, ability to manage and monitor student learning as well as service to the community. The winner will be announced at the Loudoun County School Board meeting on Tuesday, May 8.
