Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) Senior Director of Education Policy and Strategy Tony Miller, M.Ed., PA-C, was selected to receive the 2013 Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants (VAPA) PA Humanitarian of the Year Award.
Miller was honored for his leadership in fundraising efforts, community service and outreach while director at the Shenandoah University PA Program from 2000 to 2012. During that time, he mentored students for their annual community fundraiser, which brought in nearly $60,000 for local charities. He also served as a team leader for two-thirds of the program’s mission trips to Nicaragua and served as a board member for the PA Foundation. Miller, a past president of PAEA, is also Distinguished Professor of Physician Assistant Studies and remains actively involved in teaching
at Shenandoah University. The President’s Inauguration and Awards Ceremony was held during VAPA’s annual meeting in Virginia Beach. Award winners receive a one-year complimentary
VAPA membership and complimentary conference registration for 2013-14.
