The Harry F. Byrd, Jr., School of Business will host the Sixth Annual Business Symposium on Tuesday, March 25. The Business Symposium is designed to inspire and educate attendees from for-profit and nonprofit organizations. The theme of this year’s business symposium is “Building for Success: Managing Through Change.”
The symposium facilitates professional development and interaction between the area’s business community, students and faculty. It will feature a keynote presentation from Peter Schutz, former President and CEO of Porsche Automotive Group, and author of the book “Driving Force,” who will share his experience managing one of the world’s best known businesses. Additionally, there will be keynote addresses from Knox Singleton of Inova and Mark Merrill of Valley Health who will share their perspectives on the Affordable Care Act and the changing nature of health care systems.
An array of dynamic breakout sessions will put today’s rapidly changing business climate in perspective and provide practical tools, tips and techniques to use now in any organization.
Throughout the day, networking opportunities will enable participants to cultivate new relationships and customers while also learning about the products and services available from our business and nonprofit sponsors. Students can enhance their classroom experience through direct exposure to the diverse community of business professionals and speakers that are the heart of the symposium.
