You’re interested in upping your game as a pianist, but you’re not exactly sure what to do.
So, you hop online hoping to find just the right thing.
Then lo and behold! You run into famed Irish pianist John O’Conor, Mus.D., revealing a piano trick he learned in his pre-teen years. He didn’t think much of it back then, but he realized later on in his career, that it was a valuable little thing to have in his repertoire.
In less than two minutes, O’Conor, distiniguished-artist-in-residence, chair of the keyboard division and professor of piano at Shenandoah Conservatory, shows you the trick and describes how it worked for him in later years and explains how it helps him relate to his students, as well.
Not bad for a party trick.
