So, where do you begin, when learning any instrument?
Well, at the beginning, of course!
But where is that, on the piano? How about a place where you can see the trees through the forest and arrive at a place called middle C, with the guidance of internationally known pianist and Shenandoah University Distinguished Artist-in-Residence, Chair of the Keyboard Division and Professor of Piano John O’Conor, Mus.D.?
The concept may sound odd, but it works and will help you or a child learn their first piano notes. Just watch, and you’ll know just what to do, in around three minutes or less.
John O’Conor teaches at Shenandoah Conservatory at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. To learn more about John and the conservatory, visit John’s website or su.edu/conservatory.
