The Shenandoah Conservatory Dance Division was acknowledged for its excellence in performance and choreography at the March 18-21 American College Dance Association Conference (ACDA), Mid-Atlantic region, hosted by West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. Fifteen dance majors were showcased in the adjudication concert and informal concert, as well as in various classes and workshops.
The Dance Division received overwhelmingly positive feedback about the students’ performances and creativity, as did the choreography of Assistant Professor of Dance Tiffanie Carson, M.F.A. Carson’s “Run Love Run” and her cast at the adjudication concert, and Christopher Saunders and Deontay Gray’s duet performance received strong praise. Adjudicators selected senior dance major Kelly Kline’s choreography “Layer by Layer” and her cast, Olivia Hoogestraat, Kelly Kline, Maria Ortiz, Emily Pavelko, Rachel Shaver, Emma Shortall, Madison Vickhouse, and Ashley Wolfe, for the ACDA Gala Concert.
