Sabrina Taylor ’17 never anticipated she would study business at Shenandoah University. She intended to be a dancer, but when problems associated with a high-school knee fracture reasserted themselves, she was forced to withdraw from the Bachelor of Fine Arts program in dance during her very first semester.
Discouraged, Sabrina sat down to consider her next best move. Happily, Shenandoah University President Tracy Fitzsimmons, Ph.D., approached Sabrina at a First -Year Seminar Class and encouraged her to join the business school.
“Adjusting from dance to all academics was the the hardest transition of my life” Sabrina said. “I wasn’t able to obtain As and Bs until my junior year.” Knowing that she was a year behind, Sabrina decided to take a full semester of credits and a work-study position during summer 2016 in order to gain control of her situation. She’s now on track to graduate, on-time, in 2017.
And, that same summer, she launched her brand: Sabrina Supreme, through which she speaks at youth and church events and conferences, creating opportunities to make every dream limitless. Through the brand, she performs, ministering to youth through dance. She also offers dance and choreography classes and workshops. Every day, she lives her belief that everything a person does should have a purpose.
