Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre (SSMT) celebrated its 2019 season with 35 performances of three shows: “Ragtime,” “Young Frankenstein” and “The Sound of Music.” The beloved summer series welcomed more than 19,000 patrons, which meant the houses were over 93% full this season. There were more than 150 individuals employed this summer, including students from The University of Michigan, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Baldwin Wallace University, Otterbein University and more, as well as professional actors, musicians, technical and costume artists from all across the country. At the end of the summer, Professor Emeritus of Composition and Musical Theatre and Producing Artistic Director of SSMT Tom Albert, D.M.A., announced his retirement as producing artistic director. SSMT will sharing some exciting news about the new producing artistic director in the coming weeks.
