Shenandoah University’s physician assistant (PA) studies program is ranked No. 8 in Intelligent’s list of the best physician assistant graduate programs in the U.S.
Shenandoah’s program also received an accolade for having the best faculty among the 49 programs selected for the list culled from 177 assessed colleges and universities.
Shenandoah is also the list’s highest-ranked program in Virginia.
Intelligent.com states such a list is important because the U.S. needs 39,300 additional physician assistants. It’s also a high-salary field, with a median salary of around $112,000, and it’s a career in which it’s easy to focus on one of many medical specialities, including cardiology, radiology, family medicine, psychiatry, surgery, and pediatrics. Shenandoah’s program also offers a dual master’s degree in physician assistant studies and public health (MPH).
Additionally, the site notes that its “top picks for the best physician assistant degree program are affordable, respected, and flexible.”
The Seattle-based site states that it is “helping students in their pre-college journey by ranking colleges and programs across the country using aggregated publicly available data.” The site does so without any advertising or affiliate relationships with schools. “This ensures zero bias of our results,” the site states.
