The Office of Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity is excited to have mentors from Shenandoah University work with Handley High School students and is in search of highly motivated students to mentor high school students through the Scholars’ Latino Initiative program. Mentors are from all majors and are involved in various activities across campus. Mentors do not have to be Latinx, but they do have to have a passion for mentoring and creating more access to college for the Latinx community. Mentors commit to a year of involvement with SLI so that they can mentor their mentee through the rest of their high school year.
Attend the SLI interest meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 8, from 2-3 p.m. at the Mosaic Center for Diversity in the Brandt Student Center, Room 120, to learn more. For more information, please contact Dahlia Ashford at firstname.lastname@example.org.
