Finally we made it to machu picchu!!! The trip began at 6:40 in the morning, on our last day. You can only imagine our exhaustion! But this time, nobody fell asleep on the bus or even dared to yawn, because we were headed to one of the seven wonders of of the world; an adventure we would never forget. First a bus, then a train, then another bus took us to our final destination on machu picchu mountain where our feet would carry us the rest of the way. Steps upon steps. We sure did get our workout. But boy was it worth it. This view was nothing any of us could ever imagine. It was as if we were staring at a photograph, rather than breathing in the clouds, feeling the subtle rain drops on our heads, and walking along Inca-made stone paths. The history of this site is incredible, even unbelievable, making you almost believe the alien stories! Regardless of the countless tourists around, I could almost picture the Inca people right there with me. It’s hard to believe how real this civilization once was, allowing me to use my imagination. We were in awe, without a doubt, this was one for the books.
