Audition For “The Laramie Project”

November 16, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Audition For “The Laramie Project” auditions are on Tuesday, Nov. 16, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., in the Brandt Student Center (BSC), Room 118; and on Thursday, Nov. 18, from 11 a.m. to noon, and 8:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. in the BSC, Room 118. Auditions consist of cold readings from the script. Sides will be provided. All are welcome to audition. “In October 1998, a 21-year-old student at the University of Wyoming was kidnapped, severely beaten and left to die, tied to a fence in the middle of the prairie outside Laramie, Wyoming. His bloody, bruised and battered body was not discovered until the next day, and he died several days later in an area hospital. His name was Matthew Shepard, and he was the victim of this assault because he was gay.” The play requires people of many races, sizes, shapes, levels of acting ability, ages, cultural backgrounds, belief systems and philosophies. This is sponsored through The [Not Just] Women’s Center and the Mosaic Center. Questions about auditions? Contact Sarah Celec at scelec112@su.edu.
