Out Of The Darkness Campus Walk For Suicide Prevention will begin with registration at 9 a.m. at the entrance gate to the outdoor track (next to parking garage). The walk begins promptly at 10 a.m. This event is open to anyone interested in participating. There are no registration fees but walkers are encouraged to set a minimum fundraising goal of $100. Suicide is estimated to be the second leading cause of death among college-age Americans, according to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. An estimated 15 percent of young adults suffer from depression and other mental disorders that put them at risk for suicide. That is why Shenandoah University and Winchester’s Concern Hotline are hosting this Out of the Darkness Campus Walk. Sign up for the walk online.
